Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator and a part of VEON Group, has teamed up with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) to enable tech-enabled learning across TCF’s network of 1,800 schools in Pakistan. This partnership aims to provide an advanced learning experience for more than 250,000 students across the country.
To achieve this goal, Jazz has already revamped 23 computer labs and introduced a school management app in all TCF schools, offering transparency and accuracy of data collection and management for students, faculty, and non-faculty employees. The initiative also includes a blended learning solution for primary students, which combines online and offline education to provide a more interactive and engaging learning experience. The computer curriculum under the Digital Literacy Program (DLP) for grades 6-8 is designed to equip students with digital-age skills.
The digitization initiative also facilitated the translation of books and learning materials for grades 6 and 7 into Urdu, creating a bilingual curriculum. In addition, 700 Android phones were delivered to schools across the entire TCF network to aid in the implementation of the blended learning program.
Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim expressed his pride in collaborating with TCF on this important initiative to digitize schools and provide students with access to the latest technology. Jazz continues to leverage its resources and expertise to create sustainable solutions and partnerships that uplift individuals and the larger community, driven by the impetus to digitally empower youth and assist the government of Pakistan in realizing its Digital Pakistan vision.
The female teacher training program is a crucial part of this grant, as it aims to digitally empower women to take on more leadership roles and optimize their performance. Jazz has consistently been at the forefront of youth and women empowerment programs, and this partnership with TCF is another milestone in that journey.
Through this initiative, Jazz delivers on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 – Quality Education; 5 – Gender Equality; 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; and 10 – Reduced Inequalities. This partnership between Jazz and TCF is a great example of how public and private sectors can work together to drive sustainable development and make a positive impact on society.
