Maria Fatima Unera Qureshi, a talented vocalist and composer, has been named as Spotify’s EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador for the month of January. Her track “Feel” has been selected as the featured song on the EQUAL Pakistan playlist and will be featured on a digital billboard in Times Square in New York City.
Maria has a unique blend of musical influences from her Pakistani father and Filipina mother. She made her debut with Pakistan’s first and only all-girls musical group, performing a cover of John Newman’s “Love Me Again.” Since then, her vocal abilities have continued to impress and make a lasting impact on the country’s music scene. Her track “Strong,” a tribute to her mother who passed away from cancer, showcases her diverse vocal range and skill in crafting lyrics.
Maria expressed her excitement about the announcement, saying, “I am super grateful and thrilled to be Spotify’s EQUAL ambassador for this month. This program is exactly what women artists need around the world and I look forward to sharing my voice through EQUAL.”
As a young and powerful artist, Maria continues to break industry norms with her exceptional tracks. Her appointment as the EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador for January serves as a symbol of inspiration for aspiring female voices in Pakistan. Listen to Maria’s tracks on Spotify here.
