To celebrate International Women’s Day, Careem has announced its plans to launch a new motorbike service in Pakistan exclusively for female customers. Starting in Karachi, the service will expand to other cities in the country. Women who are interested in working as a female Captain can register for the service and earn a flexible income. There are two options available – part-time (5 hours) and full-time (10 hours) – with monthly payments of PKR 30,000 and PKR 50,000, respectively. Careem is also offering female motorbike Captains 0% commission, bonuses, and priority access to its safety and security helpline.
Currently, Careem has over 1,700 female Captains driving customers across various car types on its platform. The company is incentivizing all female Captains across all car types by offering special bonuses, making it more lucrative for them to work on the platform. Careem’s new women-driven motorbike service will provide its large female customer base with affordable yet safe and reliable transport, especially for everyday office and university goers, amidst rising inflation.
Imran Saleem, General Manager – Ride Hailing at Careem Pakistan, stated that the new service aims to help female customers access safe, reliable, and affordable transport, and create additional income opportunities in Pakistan. The service aligns with Careem’s mission to simplify and improve people’s lives and empower women in Pakistan. By providing female drivers with the necessary tools and resources, Careem is enabling women to take control of their own futures and reclaim public spaces. Women interested in the service can visit the DHA or Gulshan Careem opportunity center or the Careem Captain Facebook page.
