ACCA Welcomes Newly Qualified Professionals at New Member Ceremonies in Pakistan

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) recently held New Member Ceremonies in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to welcome newly qualified ACCA professionals in Pakistan. Themed ‘Shaping the future in uncertain times’, the events celebrated over 700 newly inducted ACCA members and fellow members from diverse backgrounds.

Recognizing Excellence

The events also recognized prizewinning students, newly awarded approved employers, Practical Experience Supervisors, and winners of ACCA advocacy awards. The newly qualified ACCA professionals were commended for their vital role in nation-building, contributing to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable national economic growth.

Global Recognition

ACCA President, Joseph Owoloabi, addressed the new members, emphasizing the increasingly meritocratic nature of the accountancy profession. He also highlighted the global recognition that comes with being an ACCA professional, with top employers rolling out the welcome mat for members in all of the 178 countries where they are active.

Potential for Change

President Dr. Arif Alvi, in a video message, acknowledged the potential of ACCA professionals to change and rebuild Pakistan’s economy. He emphasized the central role played by the accountancy profession in the economic development of any country and the unique position of accountants in driving transparency and being at the forefront of the global fight against corruption.

Notable Leaders Speak

The new member ceremonies included notable leaders who spoke to the new members, including Kabeer Naqvi, President & CEO, U Microfinance Bank, Faisal Mushtaq, CEO, TMUC, Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, Founder, Nutshell Group, Faisal Qamar, Co-founder and Managing Partner, Decibel HRMS, and Sajid Hussain, CEO, SKANS School of Accountancy.
