Chilly Winter in Punjab brings Changes to School Timing and Dress Code for Special Children

Education

In response to the intensifying winter conditions, the Department of Special Education Punjab has introduced a modification in school hours for special children during January and February.

Adjusted School Timings

Starting from January 10, special educational institutions will commence their operations at 9 am, concluding the school day at 2:00 pm. Fridays will observe an early dismissal at noon as part of this modification.

Proactive Winter Measures

This adjustment is a proactive response to the escalating severity of winter, prioritizing the well-being of special children. The decision aims to ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment for these students during the colder months.

Relaxed Dress Code for Added Comfort

In an effort to protect students from the chilly weather, the Department of Special Education has relaxed the dress code. Special children are now permitted to wear any sweater or jacket of their choice in addition to their uniform.

Official Notification & Seasonal Adaptations

The department has issued an official notification detailing these changes, emphasizing the importance of adapting to seasonal challenges to guarantee a conducive learning environment for all special children.

Extended Winter Break

It’s noteworthy that earlier, the provincial government had announced an extension of the winter break, resulting in the closure of all public and private educational institutions in the province until January 9.
